Wavy Banana Peel Hair Spray Vinegar

Wavy Banana Peel Hair Spray Vinegar

Shannon Wiener

Ingredients: Guava vinegar, infused with Banana Peel and Guava Leaves

4oz spray

Flavor notes: Caramel Salty Banana

Turns out banana peels are delightfully tasty and have tons of health potassium and other health benefits (give it a quick search!).

Banana peels have a slightly sticky texture that can help add weight and hold wavy hair so you can use this topically or internally! As a bonus we added guava leaves to batch #2 because they promote hair health.

This spray is intended to be both eaten and used in hair :)

Story Behind the Vinegar:

We were pondering ideas for our next culinary cosmetic when I found a banana peel in my shopping cart. As I pushed around an empty cart with a single peel, it sparked inspiration. I remembered that banana peels are used in beauty products and upon investigation,  I found they are used for hair spray! And wow,  it really does have a stick and hold to it, I think it must have been the OG hair spray.

This works out great because we already brew our banana vinegar with the peels included. And now we can further reduce waste by blending fresh banana peels into the finished vinegar to obtain the "stick". This very much so fits right into our waste reduction mission!

Now here is the shocking part, after making the test batch and realizing it works like a charm --- we tasted it ... and WOWWWWWW it literally tastes like caramel salty banana. So tasty.

So here we are again - legit culinary and cosmetic. I can't even tell you if I have a particular way I prefer because it really is that interchangeable.
