Nourish your skin and support its natural microbiome with our Awapuhi Mango Face Serum. Fresh Awapuhi (Hawaiian Shampoo Ginger) juice meets naturally fermented mango vinegar to create a raw, living elixir packed with enzymes, probiotics, and acetic acid, the natural component that helps gently tone, balance pH, and restore skin vitality. Unlike lab-made isolates such as hyaluronic acid, this serum works with your skin’s ecosystem, not against it.
A restorative ritual for your skin and body:
Your skin has a microbiome just like your gut, healthy skin starts from balance:
- Gentle cleansing: Avoid tap water with chlorine or soap, which can disrupt your microbiome. Consider purchasing a shower and bathroom sink filter if you do not already have one.
- Apply the serum: Pat a few drops onto clean, damp skin morning or night. Let the living probiotics and acetic acids do their work.
- The gut-skin microbiome axis: Adding a splash of our fermented vinegars to your water or one of our fermented sauces to meals helps digestion, supports your gut microbiome and complements your skin-care routine.
- Lifestyle alignment: Reduce added sugar, soak in gentle morning sun (*this is when infrared is strongest, no need for a lamp, go hydrate your skin with the sun!), hydrate with vinegar in your water, and nourish your body to reflect on your skin.
Why you’ll love it:
- Raw, alive, and probiotic-rich for balanced, radiant skin
- Naturally contains acetic acid to gently tone and protect
- Small-batch, tropical botanicals, and naturally fermented
- Works in harmony with your body’s skin and gut microbiomes

WHY WE MADE THIS:
Our neighbors have an awapuhi patch that we get to harvest each year. It only blossoms for 1 month of the year and to harvest the juice is a labor of love. The flowers can be juiced in place and will regenerate themselves. I juiced the flowers 3 times to get enough for a 50 50 vinegar blend. I initially made shampoo vinegar with the first harvest before realizing how much more I love it on my skin. Its phenomenal on your hair, definitely makes it silk smooth, but I prefer it as a face serum! We hope you all enjoy this carefully crafted concoction.
The mangoes came from our tree and took 4 months to brew the vinegar. To make it smell nice, I infused lavender and roses!
We hope you enjoy :)
