Mamey Sapote "Ketchup"

Mamey Sapote has a creamy tomato paste like texture and a semi spiced note similar to the clove and cinnamon in ketchup so we thought this would be perfect fit! No sweetener needed, this is absolutely delightful and we will be making this every time we get our hands on a mamey! If you don't have a mamey you could try this recipe with ripe banana : )

We enjoyed this with air fried ulu fries, chicken wings, and papusas.

Mamey Ketchup

1 cup vinegar

2/3 cup mamey sapote

4 garlic cloves

3/4 tsp salt (or to taste)

1 tsp cumin

2 tsp cayenne

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Blend all the ingredients in a blender or with a hand blender until smooth. Refrigerate for long term preservation. The vinegar will make this keep for as long as it takes to eat.
