Save Your Sauce Calories for Your Food

One of the beautiful things about vinegar is that it really has no calories. All the sugars from the fruit have been eaten during the fermentation process so that your body doesn't have to convert them. 

Surely, you have heard the phrase "don't drink your calories" aka don't just gulp down heavy sauces with your meal or high calorie beverages. The reason for that is it does not satiate you, meaning your still going to be hungry and most likely still need to eat those calories via food. 

Now... we are not ones to count calories, we never have. LOL, it turns out its really quite logical to do so. We had nooooo idea how many extra we were taking in per day just by using high fat yogurt, copious amounts of butter, endless egg yolks and not measuring anything. Turns out 1 little tablespoon of peanut butter might have been 3. 

For real though, we replaced our high fat yogurt with 0%, started straining the fat from our beef, and eating less butter. Shannon grinds all of our meat and would intentionally use the fatty cuts so our ground beef was more like 70-30!! That is nuts. Using leaner cuts and straining the fat saves each of us 500 calories per meal. I know, I know, but fat is good for us!! I do not disagree with that statement but when our % body fat is already higher than we desire, maybe more fat isn't the best? Perhaps the keto movement got us thinking sticks of butter are an energy bar? Ha we never did that but we see people online straight up eating butter. 

So now I bet you want to know what happened when we reduced our caloric intake by only decreasing the fat? We miraculously started leaning out in an effortless manner. We are literally eating the EXACT same way we ALWAYS have. but instead of having 2/3 cup of high fat yogurt and a healthy serving of avocado oil mayo, we are having 2/3 cup 0% yogurt. Such an easy swap, eats just the same, fills us up just the same but SIGNIFICATLY less calories.

To be honest, we thought carbs were the culprit. We would avoid over consuming potatoes or pumpkin. Jokes on us though cause those are both extremely low calorie and leave you with a wonderfully full happy tummy. I think high fat plus high carb is prob an issue for us personally, but high carb low fat is not nearly as sticky. 

The biggest take away from this is HIGH PROTEIN - LOW CALORIE. And what does this have to do with vinegar? Vinegar adds a ton of flavor and is next to 0 calories. Have your cake and eat it to. 

The increase in protein and decrease in fat has been an absolute game changing formula. We have always been mindful of how we eat,. Lots of fermented foods, grass fed meats, fish, etc. but when we take in too many fat calories... well i guess the lore is true, it stuck to us. 

Eating our body weight in protein is the guide stone now. It is not a dogmatic diet. We can get that protein any way we like whether it be a fun protein brownie, a protein smoothie, egg whites, a can of tuna, an entire chicken... its a game, its fun, it is creative. Protein powder has never been part of our pantry, but it is now!!! I figure the leaner our bodies, the higher our frequency, the more protected we are from any toxic byproducts that might be in our grocery store food. Actually.... fat stores toxins. So the less fat, the less forever chemicals lingering in our bodies. 

The more our bodies lean, the more in tune we are with our spirits. Our light body. This whole shift that I am sharing with you all actually started in our mind. We assumed the ascension was possible. Try it!!  Feel your desired body right NOW. You will not see the results right away because the outer world is always last to show the proof. It truly starts with the inner world. The mind diet, your thoughts, are equally impactful on your body as the food we eat. So not only did we cut the fat, we cut the thoughts that do not serve us. 

Thoughts are extremely powerful. Ignore those that do not serve you. Replace them with only thoughts of your desired outcome and watch the miracle unfold.
