đ¸ Overview
đż Topical + Internal = Full-Circle Hair Nourishment
1. Topically (on the scalp)
-
The guava leafâmango vinegar rinse works like a microbiome rebalance for the scalp.
-
Acids remove buildup, guava polyphenols reduce inflammation, and the pH balance helps your follicles âbreathe.â
-
The mild acidity encourages blood flow to the scalp, while the antioxidants protect follicles from oxidative stress that leads to hair weakening and shedding.
So externally, youâre âfertilizing the soil.â
2. Internally (as a sip or cook with it)
When you drink a small shot (diluted in water) before or during your shower, youâre giving your circulation and metabolism a nudge from the inside:
-
Mango vinegar supports digestive enzyme activity and nutrient absorption, especially iron, zinc, and biotinâall crucial for hair growth.
-
Guava leaves are rich in quercetin and vitamin C, which improve microvascular blood flow (more nutrients reaching follicles).
-
The mild acidity primes the gut microbiome, helping beneficial bacteria flourishâand gut balance is deeply tied to scalp balance via the gutâskinâhair axis.
-
The combo may also slightly reduce systemic inflammation and DHT activity, complementing the topical benefits.
It tastes just like the fruit.Â

đş Story Behind the Batch
Well, vinegar is really just a blank canvas we can paint on! I just learned that guava leaves are excellent for hair growth and since we are on a hair vinegar bender... well I made a mango vinegar guava leaf blend! I almost forgot we had a tree and was going to go out into the wild to find one, but we have one boarding our property and the neighbor's! PLUS the mangoes came from our property as well. Our common mango tree drops thousands of mangoes a year. They are a bit small and stringing but phenomenal flavor with all the same health benefits, perfect for brewing vinegar. I am happy we made so much of it because its been perfect for all these hair blends.Â
Its just so cool because it can swing both ways - an internal elixir and also a topical treatment.Â
đż Health Benefits
- Rich in lycopene and vitamin C â mango and guava leaf deliver powerful antioxidants that protect skin and scalp from oxidative stress, preserving collagen and promoting radiant vitality.
- Supports hair strength and growth â guava leaf compounds like quercetin and tannins reduce scalp inflammation and may slow DHT-related shedding for stronger, fuller strands.
- Balances scalp microbiome â gentle mango acids and guavaâs natural antimicrobials calm irritation, reduce buildup, and support a healthy, balanced scalp environment.
- Promotes natural shine and softness â fruit acids smooth and seal the hair cuticle, enhancing light reflection for silky, luminous hair.
